Bilingual Audio Contributor (Indian/English)

AfterQuery builds the expert evaluation data that frontier AI labs use to measure and improve their models. We're hiring bilingual speakers of Indian languages and English as contractors to record and review the speech data those models train and evaluate on.

What you'll actually do

• Record natural speech in your Indian language and English, from scripted prompts to free conversation

• Produce code switched recordings that mirror how bilingual speakers actually talk

• Review and correct transcriptions of recordings

• Flag audio that sounds natural but mismatches its transcript

Who this is for

• Native speakers of an Indian language such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, or Kannada who are also fluent in English

• People comfortable recording their own speech and following prompt specifications precisely

• People with access to a quiet space and a microphone that produces clean audio

• Detail oriented reviewers who catch small transcript errors

Contract and pay

• $20 to $40/hr, paid weekly via Stripe. Your rate is set from your experience, not negotiated down after you start.

• Fully remote, fully async. No fixed hours.

• Minimum 10 hours per week, no maximum. Scale up or down week to week.

• No screen recording, no keystroke monitoring, no idle timers.

• Independent contractor. Ongoing project work rather than single task batches.

How our hiring process works

1. Apply at /apply/bilingual-audio-contributor-indian-english. About five minutes. Resume plus a few structured questions.

2. Resume review. Every application gets read against a published rubric and gets a decision.

3. Written assessment. You may be asked to take a written assessment for further placement.

4. Onboarding. Sign the contractor agreement, connect Stripe, and get platform access.

5. Project match. You're matched to live work in your specialty, usually within a week of onboarding.

Required Qualifications

• Native fluency in an Indian language and full professional fluency in English

• A quiet recording environment and a microphone that produces clean audio

• Comfort recording your own speech and following detailed prompt specifications

• Able to commit at least 10 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications

• Voice over, podcasting, or audio production experience

• Transcription or data annotation experience

• Native level fluency in more than one Indian language
